NEW VACANCY: BOOKER / PROMOTER — LIVE COMEDY & SPOKEN WORD
About Us
432 Presents is one of the UK’s most active and eclectic live event promoters. With offices in Glasgow and Newcastle, we programme hundreds of gigs annually across venues in every major city in the UK and Ireland. Our roster has included artists such as Devo, Mitski, Nile Rodgers & Chic, Big Thief, Flying Lotus, The Waterboys, Viagra Boys, Yard Act, MJ Lenderman, Autechre, Angel Olsen, Lambrini Girls, Lucy Dacus, Lankum, Sparks, CupcakKe, Men I Trust, Mercury Rev, and many more.
Alongside music, we’ve have also programmed many successful spoken word and live comedy events. Previous guests include David Cross, John Cooper Clarke, Tony Iommi, Michael Cera, John C Reilly, Janey Godley, Stuart Mitchell, Pussy Riot, Simon Day, Making a Murderer (Live), and Narcos (Live).
The Role
We’re expanding our comedy and spoken word programme — and looking for someone sharp, connected, and full of ideas to help lead the charge. You’ll be responsible for booking talent, curating tours and standalone events, and helping develop a consistent strand of brilliant programming across our venues in the UK and Ireland.
You’ll be working closely with our marketing, production and wider booking teams to bring these shows to life — and encouraged to spot new opportunities, emerging artists, and unique formats or series that reflect your taste and vision.
Who We’re Looking For
You’ll likely have experience as a booker, promoter, performer or agent in comedy or spoken word. You understand what makes a room work, and you know how to get people in the door. You’re organised, proactive, and as comfortable with a tour spreadsheet as you are backstage. You bring energy, ideas, and a good network — and you know how to balance creative instinct with commercial sense.
Terms
We’re open to freelance, part-time or salaried arrangements depending on experience and availability. Fee or salary negotiable — let’s talk.
How to Apply
Send a short note about yourself, your taste in comedy or spoken word, and any relevant links (shows you’ve booked, talent you work with, events you’ve been part of) to hello@432presents.com by Tuesday 20th August. Whether you’ve worked on major theatre tours or run a brilliant grassroots night, we’d love to hear from you.
Inclusion
Everyone’s welcome. We value diversity of background, perspective and experience — and we actively encourage applications from people whose voices are underrepresented in the live events world.
