STAR Nights No.3
I've attached some artwork for the event and the following is a description...
The STAR (Student Action for Refugees) team are back with another night of community-forward live music. It's time to get down on it to the sound of four brilliantly vibrant young local acts. Your ticket fee goes directly to welcoming and supporting those seeking asylum in Glasgow. After covering venue hire costs, we use all profits to provide bus subsidies for those who attend our weekly conversation club in Maryhill Integration Network, a space for learners to practise speaking English and form connections across the community.
Fresh from the dozy suburbs of Riddiminster upon Tune in Groovenbasshire, Grendel Shortcake will be supplying free samples of their weird and wonderfully original music for those who care to tune in and a sense of inescapable uplifting energy for those who don't.
Manchester/Glasgow based, earthtoalice capture a wide emotional spectrum, rooted in ethereal airy vocals and explode into rich walls of sound. Once a solo project, the band quickly found its feet as a collective voice.
Cleo and Helena are a folk acoustic duo singing original and cover songs with intertwining harmonies.
Jorts are a Post Grunge Rock Jazz trio based in Glasgow. By blending old-school punk sensibilities with an intricate and ethereal musicality, Jorts have been able to craft songs that compel listeners to both boogie and contemplate in equal measures! All of this has combined to make them an incredibly up and coming engaging act in the Glaswegian music scene.
