An orchestral indie pop group with playful hints of ‘spook’, FLYING PENGUINS create melodic songs that combine expansive orchestration with vocal harmonies and introspective lyrics. Incorporating darker textures offset by dulcet melodies, their music expresses anxiety and excitement, fear and joy. They also occasionally sing about ghosts.
Hatching their existence in the wet West of Scotland in 2012, Flying Penguins have organised all things from collaborative gigs and residencies, to tours of foreign festivals and community music events. The band recently released their sophomore EP 'Bodies & Artefacts' to local acclaim.
