Glasgow Jazz Festival: Charlie Hunter & Lucy Woodward
Glasgow Jazz Festival Presents: Charlie Hunter & Lucy Woodward The Blue Arrow Jazz Club, Glasgow
With a career spanning 16 years and almost 20 albums, CHARLIE HUNTER consistently ups his game as an innovative writer and bandleader. He has worked with the likes of Norah Jones, Mos Def, John Mayer, D’Angelo and countless others. Hunter continues to stun audiences with his ability to simultaneously bust out tasty bass parts, melodic leads and swinging rhythms. LUCY WOODWARD has been blazing her own path since the 2003 release of her Top 40 hit Dumb Girls, which allowed her to tour internationally as well as garner her significant press exposure, though—Woodward knows the difference between confidence and braggadocio. She has consistently amped up her game touring/recording with Rod Stewart, Snarky Puppy, Celine Dion, Chaka Khan, Joe Cocker, Barbra Streisand, and now is part of this trio with Charlie. Mixing convincing vocals and songwriting with pop smarts yields a potent singer enviably in control.
