Contemporary and versatile Glasgow based saxophonist James Steele has played with the likes of Mike Stern, Stewart Brock (Prides), Ross Leighton (Fatherson), Pat Kane (Hue and Cry), Joe Locke, the Mad Chef, Bella and The Bear and Jacqui Dankworth.

James graduated from the BMus Jazz program at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, having studied under Tommy Smith, Mario Caribe and Kevin Mackenzie. At the Conservatoire, James attended master classes with world renowned musicians such as Dave Liebman, Brandford Marsalis, Makoto Ozone and Bob Mintzer. Each year James was featured on BBC Scotland’s Jazz house radio show, having had his own composition “Happy” played for the show.
